Father's Day 2011

June 19, 2011

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

For the past 3 years I have put together a scavenger hunt for Terry on Father's Day.  This year Dallas really helped me with the clues for his gifts, it was lots of fun!  We did the hunt in the morning before church and then got to play with "toys" when we got home.  The weather was gorgeous, the BBQ was delicious and we got to celebrate what an AMAZING father and husband our family has been blessed with.  All in all it was a perfect family day!

The clues :)

One of the gifts was a water gun (all the kids got one too)

All by myself

Terry found Gavin sitting in his room (in the stuffed animal tub, hey at least his butt had cushion) reading a book to himself.  He is growing up WAY to fast!

Swim Meet vs. Woodland

June 18, 2011

Another home meet vs. Woodland
25m back
25m breast
25m free
Free Relay

We are learning something each time at the meets and Dallas is having an amazing time.  She is becoming quite close with several girls and has quite a few older girls who she looks up to.  Each swim meet begins at 7am (butt early) and lasts until about 1pm.  For the swimmers there can be quite a bit of down time in between races.  But all in all I would say it has been a great experience!

Nothing like eating a cheeseburger at 10am

Another baby :)

Terry and I have been talking and we decided.......to puppy sit. What were you thinking?!?!?!? Our friends had just gotten a Shih Tzu puppy and were going away for the night.  They inquired if we would be willing to keep Toots, AKA Tootsie Roll, while they were gone and we were more than willing.  Needless to say we (me) did NOT want to give her back.  Absolutely adorable little black fur ball.......hmmmmmm maybe....nah.

Hard Working Man

June 2011

In November of 2010 Terry landed a position in the Marine Patrol department at the Sheriff's office.  Its a 4 year position in which he gets to play work on the water.  As with any position, it has its pros and cons.  Although summer time (which in California is usually 6 months) is definitely a pro! Their has been many days that the weather has been crummy and it has NOT been fun....but everyday can't be perfect.  I am constantly giving him a hard time about "must be nice to go and play on the water all day"  but I do know that even though it may be "fun" and something he loves to do, he also works very hard for our family.  For that I am SO THANKFUL!

Some of the NEAT exercises he gets to participate in

Terry and his partner Brady gearing up (coffee)

This would be one of those crappy cold days

And THIS would be what its all about!

Too Much Fun....

June 12-14, 2011

One of our FAVORITE summer time activities is to travel up to Grandma and Papa Haley's houseboat.  This year do to the weather the lake was VERY full but also VERY cold.  Although the kids didn't mind at all and I even got in the water before we left.  The first day was tons of fun. Te Te and Joe Joe were able to come up and stay the day and Uncle and Claudia were able to stay the night.  The weather was gorgeous and the fish were biting.

The kids are READY for tubing

This little girl melts my heart <3 and she is SO TAN its disgusting!.....yes I'm jealous

Daddy taking the boys in the paddleboat

This was the biggest catch of the trip and it was mine :D

ok so I didn't do the dirty work but I still caught the sucker!

One of Dallas' many catches...she loves to fish just like her mama <3

Gavin also liked to fish but was NOT going to touch it

 Matthew getting his fish on

Gavin entertaining Grandma

This was Gavin's first time riding solo on the tube...he did GREAT!

Dallas starting riding the knee board last summer and took right to it...this summer wasn't any different :)

 hanging on

Matthew about to fall off LOL

Gavin likes the lull of the water and Grandma is very comfy so he decided to take a nap while the other two were tubing :)

She was constantly trying to get her tube to "jump" the waves

These two were at war trying to get one another to fall off

 Papa almost dumped Matthew

Matthew trying to hot dog it

No such thing as too much fun!!!!!

Swim Meet vs. Sac

June 11, 2011

This was our first official home meet....last weeks got rained out.  It was VERY exciting and daddy took the day off just to be there.  Grammy and Papa even came out to watch too.  Dallas was entered into the following races:
25 free
25 back
50 free
100 free relay

She did EXCELLENT in all of her races! In the backstroke she was able to shave 6 seconds off her time :)

Dallas and Sophia trying to stay warm before the meet

Almost there

At the ready bench making friends :)

Its tradition after the meet is over (while all the parents clean up) that the kids do the macarena...Dallas still needs a little help learning the dance ;)

Look at my TEETH

June 7, 2011

Gavin has been to the dentist before but today was his first actual cleaning and he did GREAT!  He sat on daddy's lap like such a big boy and got the works done and then was so proud of himself.  He does have 1 cavity :( very small and won't need any numbness to fix though.

Together again

June 5, 2011

The kids could not have been any more excited for BIG brother Matthew to come.  We have lots of plans for while he is here.  Along with all the bickering and pranks I am sure we will be entertained ;)

So sweet

smiles all around :D

We are all looking forward to lots of family time and enjoying each others company!

Another year has gone to where?

June 3, 2011

My parents always told me to "wait until you have kids and see how fast time flies"  once again they were right.  Another school year has passed and my baby girl is going to be a 2nd grader.  How can that be?  How can we have gone from reading "Hop on Pop" to chapter books...and chapter books in 1 day.  Dallas has grown a great deal intellectually this year.  She still loves school and I hope to continue with that mentality.  She is a leader and a helper and kind to all.
Not only will Gavin be starting preschool in the fall (as long as we can finish with this potty training).  But Dallas will be moving onto yet another chapter in her childhood.  So excited for what is to come!!!

MY EYES MY EYES!!!

His eyes aren't closed he just really can't open them because the cap is so tight ;)

Sacramento ZOOOOOOOOOOOOO

May 23, 2011

Dallas' first grade class took a field trip to the Sacramento Zoo and we decided to meet them up there.  Although the zoo isn't very big it was perfect for the time we had.  The kids enjoyed it and got to see some fun animals.

She's not sassy or anything ;)
