Where are the instructions?!?!?!?

Are we ever really prepared for death....whether it be a loved one, friend or family pet.  It's. not. easy.

On January 31st we lost our wonderful cat Thunder of only a year and half.  He was an AWESOME cat!!! He definitely made his way into our hearts and will be greatly missed.  I am still hearing the little pitter patter of his feet down the hall after we go to bed when he would come to bed once the house was quiet.  And I am still expecting him to run out the garage door every time I pull into the driveway and press the button.  Although I am extremely sad that he is gone I think the thing that hurts the most is watching my children deal with this loss.  Cats are supposed to live a LONG time.  There are no instructions on how to comfort your children with death.  And no answers to what to say when your 3 year old asks "When is Thunder going to be alive again".  Or when your 7 year old bursts into tears when she looks at a picture or when she goes to climb into her bed at night because he would have been sleeping in her bed all day long. We have said many prayers for God to help us through this and to keep Thunder comforted until we get up there to see him.  He will forever be missed and always in our hearts! 10/15/2010-12/31/2012

Terry has been teaching me to shoot over the years and I have to say I am pretty good! I think it helps that I had never shot a gun before so I didn't have any bad "habits" to break (as far as posture and what not).  It sure is a lot of fun and a good stress reliever too!

Still Learning....

August 22, 2011

It was the Monday after we got home from Lake Tahoe and Dallas had just gotten home from school.  I kept smelling what seemed like nail polish remover....although no one had used any remover.  I did paint my toes before we left for Lake Tahoe and figured I must have left something in the trash from wiping the extra paint off of my nails.  Took the trash out.....still smelled it. Now I was smelling it by the front door....where Dallas' backpack was hanging.  So I start going through her backpack and in one of the small side zip pockets I find a plastic bag with a sliced up GREEN orange that I'm not sure how long it had been in there.  So note to self a fermented old orange also smells like nail polish remover.

Miranda.....and BLAKE :))))

August 19-21, 2011

Terry and I were lucky enough to go to Lake Tahoe and attend the Miranda Lambert concert.  And I was lucky enough that she also brought her husband :).  It was definitely one of the best moments of the night when they did a duet together.  We had a wonderful time and got to escape reality for a little bit.

In our seats being silly before the concert

Little Big Town opened for her and they were fun
