Deadeye

Terry has been teaching me to shoot over the years and I have to say I am pretty good! I think it helps that I had never shot a gun before so I didn't have any bad "habits" to break (as far as posture and what not).  It sure is a lot of fun and a good stress reliever too!

Still Learning....

August 22, 2011

It was the Monday after we got home from Lake Tahoe and Dallas had just gotten home from school.  I kept smelling what seemed like nail polish remover....although no one had used any remover.  I did paint my toes before we left for Lake Tahoe and figured I must have left something in the trash from wiping the extra paint off of my nails.  Took the trash out.....still smelled it. Now I was smelling it by the front door....where Dallas' backpack was hanging.  So I start going through her backpack and in one of the small side zip pockets I find a plastic bag with a sliced up GREEN orange that I'm not sure how long it had been in there.  So note to self a fermented old orange also smells like nail polish remover.

Miranda.....and BLAKE :))))

August 19-21, 2011

Terry and I were lucky enough to go to Lake Tahoe and attend the Miranda Lambert concert.  And I was lucky enough that she also brought her husband :).  It was definitely one of the best moments of the night when they did a duet together.  We had a wonderful time and got to escape reality for a little bit.

A big SECOND grader

August 15, 2011

I don't think I am old enough to have a second grader....sigh. Dallas started school today and I can't believe she is already in second grade. Where has the time gone? What happened to my little girl who used to tell me "do the dishes" which meant its delicious.  What happened to the little girl who still needed my help to tie her shoes, or help her write her name.....that's right she is growing up.  Sad that she is growing up and needing me less and less but so proud of the young lady that she is becoming.  We are gonna ROCK second grade!

She DOES still need me for some things...she insisted I put her hair in pigtails ;)

Last lake trip for the summer

August 11-12, 2011

One last jaunt out to New Melones before school starts.  This was definitely one of the best summers out at the lake.  Gavin is finally getting comfortable in the water and swimming around with his life jacket on.  Dallas is continuing to improve on the knee board and would love to try skis or a wakeboard.  And we always get to just relax and enjoy fishing with the kids.

Want some

August 8, 2011

One of our favorite (and necessary) places to shop is Costco.  And the kids (including the larger better half of mine) love to eat there as well.  Love the moments when they are so cute and nice to each other it just makes you want to keep reproducing more of them......ok not really but you know what I mean.

Gavin LOVES magazines, catalogs and flyers.....books too.  But if you give the kid a new magazine he will sit and look at it over. and over. and over again.  Too stinkin cute!
