GG has a mini cooper and so does her best friend Jeanie. The kids LOVE the cooper. Each time we were getting ready to leave somewhere he would say "I wanna take the cool car". I did get the privilege of driving GG's and I must say it is a sweet ride.

We headed over for to Roscommon, Michigan for another gorgeous day on the water. Aunt Tracy's family owns a house on Higgins Lake. They were kind enough to take us out on the lake, let the kids tube and feed us a wonderful dinner. Each time I go back to Michigan I am awe struck at how beautiful and pristine the lakes are. People actually care about the water and want to continue to enjoy it. Higgins Lake was no exception. The water was so clear that you could see 32 feet down. Aunt Julie was even able to make it over for part of the day. It was wonderful to spend some time with everyone and let the kids show off on the tubes.

We had a nice relaxing day at Torch Lake and then spent the rest of the day at GG's house playing with bubbles and leaving her some beautiful pictures on her driveway.....sounds like the perfect summer day to me!

While we were at cousin Brooke's wedding in Alpena we drove by some old stomping grounds.

This is GG's old hair salon. The bottom floor was the salon and the top floor was where we lived. So many WONDERFUL memories here. And if you look close in the background you can see that Dairy Queen was just right down the street :).
And THIS is what is directly across the street.....sigh.

It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful weddings are. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a hopeless romantic and a huge sap....especially when it comes to weddings. If I had the chance (and the money) I would get married and have my wedding be everyday....or at least every weekend. I mean who wouldn't want to get pampered everyday, wear a beautiful dress, have all of your closest friends and family be there, have a huge party and dance all night AND confess your vows of love to the man of your dreams.
Brooke and Eric's wedding was just that...beautiful and full of romance and FUN! Gavin unfortunately was still on California time and decided he needed a nap as soon as the reception started. He slept for quite a while and then danced and partied until we MADE him leave....then he cried. Throughout the night Gavin made quite a few friends....he is definitely a little ladies man. Dallas was a complete and total social butterfly...nothing new there. She made the rounds and then helped out in any way she could, including the photo booth. The photo booth was set up so that friends and family could go in (with or without props) and take pictures to put in a scrapbook for Brooke and Eric. You also get a copy of the pictures to keep. I think we have a total of about 15 pictures of Dallas in the photo booth. The event was wonderful and it was even better to have all the family together (except the hubby).

Spending Time with Sissy

My sister and her family rented a house on Lake Arrowhead for their visit. The view was stunning....but what made it even better was just having all of us together. I had not seen my sister in over 3 years (far too long). We had some wonderful chats with lots of laughter that made us cry...you know the good kind. The visit went by way too fast but I am so thankful that we were blessed with the visit. Now just need to make sure its not another 3 years before we do it again ;)

We arrived safely and now it was time to play! The cousins all came over to GG's house today and then we decided to head over to beautiful Torch Lake. Had a yummy lunch at The Dockside and then went for a swim. Only had one injury......Auntie Jennifer got stung by a bee on her toe....it was actually quite funny (except to her).

It is SO AWESOME to have one of your best friends be such an AMAZING photographer! My girlfriend Amber came out and spent 3 hours at 3 different locations taking pictures of my beautiful little family. The pictures are priceless!!! Here are just a few (of the over 600) of my favorites!
